Trauma Therapy in California

Transforming Deep Emotional Wounds at the Root

Trauma Therapy That Goes Beyond Talk

Many of the clients I work with are high-functioning.
They are successful, capable, and outwardly composed.

Yet internally, they struggle with:

  • Relationship patterns they cannot break
  • Emotional triggers that don’t make sense
  • Anxiety, shame, or disconnection
  • Difficulty with intimacy, boundaries, or self-worth

This is often the result of unresolved developmental trauma.

Trauma therapy is not just about understanding what happened.
It is about
healing the emotional and neurological impact it left behind.

What Is Trauma Therapy?

Trauma therapy is a specialized approach designed to treat the lasting effects of early relational wounds, not just the symptoms.

These wounds often occur between birth and age 18 and may include:

  • Emotional neglect
  • Inconsistent or unpredictable caregiving
  • Boundary violations
  • Growing up in environments affected by addiction, anxiety, or emotional immaturity

Even when these experiences were subtle, they can shape:

  • How you see yourself
  • How you relate to others
  • What you tolerate in relationships

Signs You May Benefit From Trauma Therapy

You may not think of your experiences as “trauma,” but the patterns often show up clearly:

  • You feel stuck in the same relationship dynamics
  • You struggle with boundaries or saying no
  • You over-give or lose yourself in relationships
  • You feel emotionally disconnected or shut down
  • You experience anxiety, shame, or fear of abandonment
  • You are highly self-aware—but still repeating patterns

These are not random struggles.
They are
patterns rooted in early development.

Why Traditional Therapy Often Isn’t Enough

Many of my clients have done years of therapy before coming to this work.

They understand their past.
They can articulate their patterns.

But they are still stuck.

That’s because trauma is not just cognitive—it is stored in the nervous system and emotional body.

Insight alone does not create change.

Without a structured, targeted approach, therapy can remain:

  • Insightful
  • Supportive
  • But ultimately limited in transformation

My Approach to Trauma Therapy

I provide a structured, depth-oriented model of trauma therapy designed to create real, lasting change.

My work is heavily influenced by the model developed by Pia Mellody, known as Post Induction Therapy.

This approach focuses on:

  • Healing early developmental trauma at the root
  • Identifying and shifting core belief systems
  • Building emotional regulation and capacity
  • Developing healthy boundaries
  • Strengthening a functional sense of self

This is not open-ended therapy.

It is a clear, guided process with a beginning, middle, and end.

What Makes This Work Different

This work is designed for individuals who:

  • Are ready to go beyond surface-level insight
  • Want to stop repeating the same patterns
  • Are willing to engage in deeper emotional work
  • Value structure, direction, and expertise

Many clients describe this as the first time therapy actually created change, not just awareness.

Trauma Therapy for Relationships

Unresolved trauma does not stay in the past—it shows up in relationships.

It can look like:

  • Codependency or over-functioning
  • Love addiction or fear of abandonment
  • Love avoidance or fear of intimacy
  • Difficulty communicating or staying present

As these underlying wounds are addressed, relationships begin to shift naturally.

What Healing Looks Like

As trauma is processed and resolved, clients begin to:

  • Feel more grounded and emotionally stable
  • Set and maintain clear boundaries
  • Choose healthier relationships
  • Stay present during conflict instead of shutting down
  • Experience connection without losing themselves

This is not about becoming someone new.

It is about becoming who you were meant to be without the impact of unresolved trauma.
